State Statistics Committee announces regions with highest and lowest divorce rates
In January-September 2020, the highest divorce rate (per mil) was observed in Tashkent (1.4), Syrdarya (1.3), Andijan (1.0), Navoi (0.9) and Tashkent (0.9) regions, the State Statistics Committee reports.
In the first 9 months of this year, 20 thousand divorces were registered, during the same period last year – 23.6 thousand.
At the same time, in January-September 2020, a relatively low level of divorces (per mil) was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (0.5), Kashkadarya (0.5), Khorezm (0.5) and Surkhandarya (0.6) regions.
According to preliminary data, this year, 49.8% of the total number of divorces were among couples who did not have children, 29.6% – with one child and 20.6% – with two or more children.
In January-September 2020, a relatively high marriage rate (per mil) across the regions of the Republic was recorded in Syrdarya (9.1), Jizzakh (8.4), Kashkadarya (7.9) and Navoi (7.8) regions.
Relatively low marriage rates (per mil) were registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (5.1), Khorezm (5.9), Bukhara (6.4) and Samarkand (6.8) regions.
