Five universities of Uzbekistan to conduct admission exams independently
As an experiment, from the academic year 2021/2022, five higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan will independently determine the criteria for admission to the undergraduate courses.
According to the document, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education has been instructed to organize a public competition to select these five higher education institutions and to approve a program for their transformation.
From the 2021/2022 academic year, the institutions chosen will:
- determine independently the parameters of admission to undergraduate and master’s courses on a tuition fee basis
- organize admission exams for undergraduate programs independently
- invite professors from prestigious foreign universities in the educational process as partners
The transformation will be carried out within the framework of the state program “Year of Development of Science, Education and Digital Economy” in cooperation with leading foreign universities.
