Uzbekistan and Turkey sign military-technical cooperation agreement
Uzbekistan and Turkey have signed an agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation.
According to the press service of the Defense Ministry of Uzbekistan, the document was signed on October 27, during the visit of the Turkish Minister of National Defense, Hulusi Akar, to Tashkent.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Hulusi Akar during the minister’s visit to Uzbekistan. According to the presidential press service, the meeting examined the status and prospects of military-technical cooperation between the two countries, as well as the results of the joint activities in the defense sphere carried out in recent years.
Answering the journalists’ questions, Akar described the visit of the Turkish delegation to Uzbekistan as “important and informative”. According to the minister, the parties have conducted “very positive negotiations”, Anadolu writes.
He noted that Turkey and Uzbekistan have historical ties of friendship and brotherhood.
Akar stressed the need to further expand cooperation between Ankara and Tashkent in both military training and the defense industry.
