Deadline of the contest on renaming regional airports extended
The State Committee for Tourism Development, the Ministry of Transport and JSC Uzbekistan Airports have extended the deadline of the contest on choosing the best names for regional international airports until November 5.
“The purpose of the competition is to actively involve the public in determining the best names for the regional airports of Uzbekistan, with the exception of Tashkent International Airport and the Andijan Airport named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur,” the Committee reported.
Any person who has reached the age of 16, including students, artists, scientists, historians and others interested in the development of tourism, regardless of nationality, may participate in the competition.
A commission of representatives of ministries and departments, as well as of the public, including prominent historians, will select five projects for each airport, which then will be offered for online voting on uzbektourism.uz website.
