Nordwind Airlines to resume direct Kazan–Tashkent flights from July 18
Russian carrier Nordwind Airlines will resume direct flights between Kazan and Tashkent from July 18, expanding air links between Uzbekistan and Russia's Republic of Tatarstan.
According to Uzbekistan Airports, the route will operate twice a week throughout the year. Flights from Kazan are scheduled for Monday and Friday nights, with return services from Tashkent departing on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. The journey is expected to take around three and a half hours.
One-way fares currently start at 13,549 Russian rubles, or approximately UZS 2.17 million, according to prices listed on the airline's website.
With Nordwind's return, five airlines will offer direct flights between Tashkent and Kazan. The route is already served by Uzbekistan Airways, Centrum Air, FlyOne Asia, and UVT Aero, giving passengers a wider range of travel options and increasing competition on the corridor.
Anton Mattis, Deputy General Director of Nordwind Airlines, said Tashkent will become the airline's sixth international destination served from its Kazan hub.
Nordwind first launched flights to Uzbekistan in 2018, operating a weekly service between Kazan and Tashkent. In recent years, the airline has sought to expand its presence in Central Asia, including plans to develop routes connecting Russian regional cities with destinations in Uzbekistan.
