Deputy head of district BCE arrested for bribery
In the Namangan region, employees of the SSS and the prosecutor’s office conducted an operative event, the State Security Service (SSS) reported.
During the operation, the deputy head of the BCE district department was caught red-handed with material evidence when receiving $2,000 from a local businessman.
Reportedly, in 2019, the activities of an LLC owned by the entrepreneur were inspected by the tax authorities, tax arrears were identified and the documents collected for its reimbursement were sent to the BCE.
The deputy head of the district BCE said that he would waive the debt in exchange for $3,000. Through an intermediary, he had received $1,000 and 2.2 million soums from the businessman in advance.
A criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
