647 officials prosecuted for corruption-related crimes in Jan-Sept 2020 – Anti-Corruption Agency
During the first 9 months of 2020, law enforcement agencies initiated criminal cases on a total of 838 cases of corruption, the Anti-Corruption Agency reported.
It was noted that 647 officials were prosecuted on 454 criminal cases.
In the first 9 months of 2020, the largest number of officials, that is, 261 people (40.3%), committed crimes specified in Article 167 (corruption) of the Criminal Code.
Also, 116 persons were prosecuted under Article 168, 68 persons – under Article 184, 56 persons – under Article 210, 24 persons – under Article 205, 9 persons – under Article 206, 15 persons – under Article 207, 7 persons – under Article 209 of the Criminal Code.
According to the analysis, 7 deputy khokims, 1 prosecutor, 13 BCE employees, 59 MIA officers, 6 STC officers, 3 Ministry of Defense employees, 57 staff of the Health Ministry, 8 employees of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, 15 officials of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education and others were prosecuted.
During the period under review, as a result of corruption crimes, more than 200 billion soums were misappropriated.
