Ministry of Energy identifies cause of fire at the oil depot near Tashkent
The reason for the ignition of the tank with fuel at the Pakhta oil depot in the Tashkent region was a spark that arose during the pumping of residual oil products, the press service of the Energy Ministry said.
On November 26 at about 11:31, a tanker with fuel (5,000 tons) caught fire at an oil depot in the Chinaz district. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire was localized at 14:19 and was completely extinguished at 18:15.
“It is assumed that the cause of this fire was a spark that arose during the pumping of residual oil products from the tank using special pumps,” the report of the press service reads.
