13 private employment agencies deceived over 9,300 people for 79 billion soums in less than two years – Ministry official
To date, criminal proceedings have been instituted against 51 managers and officials of 13 private employment agencies (PEAs).
These PEAs misappropriated about 79.1 billion soums of 9,338 citizens, Mukhammadzokir Mamatkhanov, head of the External Labor Migration Agency, said at a press conference on November 27, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
“Over the past period, 104 legal entities have been registered by the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations. Of these, 75 were licensed by the ministry. The licenses of 53 private employment agencies were revoked, and criminal proceedings were instituted against 11 of them,” he said.
It is reported that in 2019, 64 private employment agencies were licensed, 12 had their licenses revoked and 9 were prosecuted.
During the past period of 2020, 6 PEAs were licensed and activities of 43 were suspended. Criminal proceedings have been instituted against two of them.
