Jamshid Khodjayev chairs CIS Intergovernmental Council on Agro-Industrial Complex
At the Thursday meeting of the CIS Intergovernmental Council on Agro-Industrial Complex, one of the first items on the agenda was the election of the chairman for the Council. In accordance with the statute of the Council, Jamshid Khodjayev, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, was appointed for the position, the ministry informed.

The meeting of the CIS Intergovernmental Council on Agro-Industrial Complex was attended by ministers and deputy ministers of agriculture of Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The Council was established under the Agreement on Inter-State Relations on Agribusiness of March 29, 1993. Uzbekistan joined the Council as a full member on July 26, 2018. The chairmanship of the Council shall be held by each member state, represented by its representative, for a period of one year.
The meeting discussed a number of issues of the Intergovernmental Council, among which was the issue of facilitating the importation of agricultural products between CIS member states.
