Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan discuss border delimitation

On December 15, a joint meeting of the government delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on the delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border was held at the state residence Ala-Archa.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz government, the delegation of Kyrgyzstan was headed by the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiyev, and the delegation of Uzbekistan – by the adviser to the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Mekhriddin Khayriddinov.

Welcoming the members of the delegation of Uzbekistan, Kamchybek Tashiyev stated that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches particular importance to the speedy completion of the legal formalities for the delimitation of the state border with Uzbekistan.

“Having lived side by side for many centuries, with close friendly relations and kinship links, we must ensure the speedy completion of the process of delimitation of the remaining areas to create favorable conditions for our citizens, as well as start the work of demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border according to the Treaty signed in 2017,” he said.

After that, in accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the topographical working groups began to discuss the delimitation of the state border.
