Uzbekistan to accelerate the introduction of drip and rain pipe irrigation systems in agriculture
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed the decree “On measures to further accelerate the introduction of water-saving technologies in agriculture”, the Ministry of Justice informs.

According to the decree, the introduction of drip and rain pipe irrigation systems will be increased five times.
In 2021, water-saving technologies will be introduced for 430,000 hectares of land in the country. In addition, the efficiency of water use will be improved by leveling 200,000 hectares of land with laser equipment.
From 2021, the state will provide subsidies to agricultural producers to cover part of the cost of introducing water-saving technologies in the cultivation of agricultural products.
Subsidies are granted on the condition that the implemented water-saving technologies are applied for at least 5 years, and the land is not subject to optimization for a minimum of 5 years.
