In the Surkhandarya region, law enforcement officers detained a criminal printing counterfeit banknotes on a printer.
As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported, on December 13, law enforcement officers detained a resident of the Muzrabad district, who came to the “Istara” rural food market and tried to push counterfeit banknotes (9 banknotes with a face value of 50,000 soums, 9 with a face value of 100,000 soums, in total 1.3 million soums).
“During the pre-investigation check in the detainee’s house, 125 counterfeit bills with a face value of 100 thousand soums, 64 bills with a face value of 50 thousand soums, in total – 15.7 million soums, as well as Russian currency – 9 bills with a face value of 1 thousand rubles, 1 bill – 2 thousand rubles and 8 bills with a face value of 100 rubles, for a total of 11.8 thousand rubles were confiscated,” the report says.
In addition, law enforcement officers seized an Epson color printer, an LG video system, a modem, a Vesta TV and a keyboard.
According to the conclusion of the forensic department, the banknotes were made and printed using the computer, which was seized from the man.
On December 16, a criminal case was initiated against the detainee under Article 176 (production, sale of counterfeit money) of the Criminal Code.
