University student in Tashkent tests positive for coronavirus, two faculties closed
A student of the Russian Language and Literature Department at the Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami has been diagnosed with coronavirus, Xalq Suzi reports with reference to the press service of the university.
Responsible organizations for preventing the spread of the virus has recommended that all persons who came into contact with the infected student self-isolate themselves for 14 days.
“The necessary control measures have been introduced at the Russian Language and Literature Department, as well as at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, which are settled on the 4th floor of the educational building. All first-year students of these departments will now study online,” the statement says.
From January 24, second, third and fourth-year students of these two faculties will take final exams of the winter session online. Two weeks later, on February 8, the freshmen will return to the traditional form of study to take the exam.
Students of all other faculties will continue to study and take exams offline.
It also became known that the premises, entrances and exits of the Russian Language and Literature Department, as well as the Faculty of Foreign Languages, are completely isolated. Disinfection works are planned here.
Currently, the territory of the departments is completely closed and under control.
It should be recalled that from January 11, all universities in Uzbekistan returned to the traditional form of education.
