Ministry of Higher Education denies rumors about spread of coronavirus among some university students
There were reports on social networks that coronavirus cases had been detected among students of some higher education institutions (NUU, TSUOS, FarPI, TUIT Samarkand branch) and that several faculties and dormitory floors had been closed for disinfection.
The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education has issued a statement commenting on these reports. It says such rumors are unfounded.
“It is worth noting that no coronavirus infection has been detected among the students of the higher education institutions mentioned in the report and no dormitory building has been closed,” the statement said.
The ministry urged the media and individuals to refrain from spreading such rumors.
“The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education and higher education institutions are not interested in concealing such cases if they become serious and widespread. We are always ready to cooperate and comment, if necessary,” the ministry concluded.
