Uzbekistan to take part in a meeting of EAEU Intergovernmental Council for first time

The meeting will consider issues of expanding trade-economic cooperation, removing obstacles to the functioning of the domestic market. Representatives of Uzbekistan are also expected to attend the event.

The next meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council will be held on February 5, 2021, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.

The meeting is expected to be attended by the heads of government of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, the chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as representatives of the observer states – Moldova, Uzbekistan and Cuba.

The meeting of the Intergovernmental Council will be held in a narrow and expanded format. The agenda of the meeting includes the expansion of trade-economic cooperation, the removal of barriers to the functioning of the domestic market, as well as the development of integration capacity in some sectors of the economy.

In addition, the participants will visit the International Forum “Digital Future of the Global Economy”, dedicated to the support of innovative and technological entrepreneurship and the development of digital ecosystems. Leading scientists and experts in the field are expected to be invited to the forum.
