Tashkent’s chief architect provides information on illegally constructed residential buildings in the capital

In 2020, more than 100 multi-storey houses were illegally constructed in Tashkent, the chief architect of the capital, Nuriddin Soatov, said.

“In most cases, apartment buildings were built on land allocated for individual housing construction,” Soatov informed during the briefing on January 28.

As a result, the engineering communications system was negatively affected by congestion, resulting in various emergency situations.

“A survey conducted in 2020 revealed that more than 100 apartment complexes were built on land allocated for individual housing. As a result, there is growing discontent among the residents of these houses and problems in the communal sphere,” Soatov concluded.
