Uzbekistan aims to strengthen cooperation in agriculture with Turkic Council member states
Agriculture Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev held a meeting in Tashkent with the Secretary-General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev.

As the press service of the ministry reported, the parties discussed a number of issues, including the holding in 2021 of the first meeting of the Council of Agriculture Ministers in order to further expand the exchange of experience, information and technologies between the Turkic Council member states.
“In addition, the sides considered the organization of an AgriBusiness Forum with the participation of large agricultural companies from the member countries of the council, the prospects for interaction were discussed. Khodjayev talked about the need to align the agrarian policy of the Turkic Council with the FAO South-South Cooperation Program,” the statement reads.
Following the meeting, Jamshid Khodjayev said that in Uzbekistan a unified system of integration of science, education and agricultural production is being created.
Recently, by a presidential decree, the concept of priority development of the system of knowledge and innovation in agriculture in 2021-2025 was approved. A national center for knowledge and innovation in agriculture was established under the Ministry of Agriculture, which will coordinate the research activities of all state scientific and educational agricultural institutions.
