Transport Minister names main conditions for privatization of Uzbekistan Airways
Before the privatization of Uzbekistan Airways, it is necessary to increase the attractiveness of the company for investors, the Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov said.
“To privatize the airline, we must sell it at a good price. We need to increase its attractiveness. All aircraft were purchased on loans. With such a credit debt, with such a business strategy, the attractiveness of the airline will be low,” the minister said.
“There are tasks that are completed step by step in the transformation process. By implementing them in the future, we will sell certain shares to the private sector,” Mahkamov added.
Now, according to him, it is too early to carry out privatization, as the company’s attractiveness is low.
