Uzbekistan Airways to update its logo retaining traditional livery
Uzbekistan Airways, as part of its development strategy, on Friday presented an updated logo, symbolizing “an even greater movement towards innovation and excellence”.
“The design has become more minimalistic, light, but retains its familiar recognition, sending us back to the history of the formation of one of the leaders in air transportation in Central Asia,” the company’s press service said in a statement.
Uzbekistan Airways did not radically change the logo – it is still the same circle with a bird inside, but in the same color, like the first version of the logo. When writing a company name, all letters will now be capitalized.
The airline's press secretary, Dilorom Kaimbayeva, noted at a meeting with journalists that day that the decision to “adjust” the logo was made taking into account modern trends, namely minimalism, in order to make it more elegant and easier to perceive.
Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways Shukhrat Khudaykulov said that updating the logo on all media – “from napkins, amenity kits and documents to airplanes” – will take one and a half to two years.
The replacement will be carried out in an evolutionary way – along with the old one, a new logo will be used.
As for the plans announced last year to update the corporate livery of the aircraft, the company decided to preserve the traditional color – the colors of the flag of Uzbekistan – as it is already recognizable throughout the world and stands out among other airlines.
On existing aircraft with the current livery, the logo will retain the color scheme – a yellow circle, a green bird and a red outline, but its shape will gradually be brought into line with the updated version.
The carrier also introduced a new slogan – “Wings of Central Asia”. The current one is “Security. Stability. Comfort”.
At a meeting with journalists, executives of Uzbekistan Airways said that the company has the right to call itself the wings of Central Asia, since for decades it has been offering both flights connecting different regions and direct flights to cities such as New York, Tokyo and others.
