The President noted that one resolution is not enough to address the problems and that the monitoring of execution is very important, expressing his confidence in the media representatives who help him in this matter.
President Shakat Mirziyoyev spoke with journalists during a visit to the Uchtepa district.
Kun.uz correspondent Abror Zohidov, a doctor by specialty, said that hospitals in Uzbekistan provide no complex operations for patients of hematological and oncological diseases. He noted that charity organizations organize fundraisings due to a lack of funds for treatment. The journalist noted that many patients are asking for help for the treatment of oncological and hematological diseases.
In turn, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that he constantly thinks about ways to help people with such diseases, and today, talking with sick children, could not hold back his tears. The President said that the state will help them under the new system, and the necessary funds will be allocated for this. He also noted that the necessary equipment will be delivered from abroad to eliminate difficulties, and special hospitals will be created in regional centers.
“I have long been concerned about problems in oncology and hematology. We do not have organ transplant specialists, there are no such centers, equipment. Therefore, we will deliver equipment from Russia, Korea, Germany, countries with extensive experience in this area, open centers in the regions. Not only in the city of Tashkent, but also in Tashkent region. In the capital, we will allocate land with an area of about 10 hectares, and create a modern center,” the President said.
“The system of medical examination of women should be radically changed. Medical examination must be mandatory. The later cancer is identified, the more difficult it is to cure. We have great plans, and if God wills, we will bring them to reality,” he said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that there are still many shortcomings in the sphere, but “if we try with hope and trust, we shall achieve results.”
“We need to make sure we are on the right path. There are many shortcomings, we need time. We need to consciously love our homeland, serve our people. Of course, it is impossible to fix everything at once, and in all areas. Sitting and signing a decree will not solve problems. If it did, I would sign decrees every now and then and fix everything. I am concerned about performance, quality, discipline, responsibility. If we can establish this with you, if you communicate more often with those responsible, then I will have nothing to worry about,” the President expressed confidence in reporters.
