State Security Service’s former head office to be sold by end of June
The former building of the State Security Service on Sayilgoh Street in Tashkent will be sold by the end of June. This was announced at the international privatization forum by the director of the State Assets Management Agency Akmalkhon Ortikov.
“By the end of the first half of the year, more than 550 state assets are expected to be sold, including such large property complexes as the Poytakht business center, Malika shopping mall, Ichan Kala hotel, an administrative building in the center of Tashkent (the former building of the State Security Service - ed.),” said Ortikov.
Employees of the SSS central office vacated the building in 2018. Now the 20,219 sq. m. facility is on the balance sheet of the State Assets Management Agency.
It should be recalled that in October 2020, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree “On measures to accelerate the reform of enterprises with state shares”. Then it became known that the former head office of the State Security Service would be put up for sale.
