Sergei Denisenko, a citizen of Uzbekistan, raised the flag of the country over the highest point of the planet – Mount Everest (8.848 m).
This is the first ascent of the mountain by Uzbeks from the Nepali side.
This year’s climbing season is very abnormal due to unstable weather conditions. Denisenko’s expedition lasted about 2 months. He dedicated his achievement to the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.
