Another high-speed railway line to be built between Navoi and Bukhara
An additional electrified high-speed railway is being built on the Navoi – Bukhara section, Dunyo IA reported.
The second line of the Navoi – Bukhara section with a length of 92.3 kilometers is being built at the expense of Uzbekistan Railways JSC’s own funds.
The project envisages the creation of 3 crossings, 1 railway overpass, 12 reinforced concrete bridges, 49 artificial structures and 3 maintenance buildings.
The opening of the new railway will improve the transport infrastructure of the country as a whole and contribute to the further development of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
At present, there is a regular movement of high-speed trains “Afrosiyob” in the directions Tashkent – Samarkand, Tashkent – Karshi and Tashkent – Bukhara. The section “Tashkent – Samarkand – Morokkand” consists of 2-lane steel tracks, while the Navoi – Bukhara direction is from a single track.
