WHO experts to study activities of COVID testing laboratories in Uzbekistan
Specialists will also conduct trainings on biosecurity and biosafety for employees of national and regional laboratories of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service throughout the republic.

Experts of the World Health Organization will study the activities of laboratories testing for COVID-19 in Uzbekistan, as well as conduct trainings on their biological protection, the press service of the WHO office in the republic reports.
“Experts from the WHO Regional Office for Europe arrived in Uzbekistan to strengthen the capacity and study the activities of national public health laboratories conducting testing for COVID-19,” the release said.
According to the press service, on July 5-9, experts will also conduct trainings on biosecurity and biosafety for employees of national and regional laboratories of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service of the republic.
In 2018, the National Center for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) of Uzbekistan joined the WHO “Better Labs for Better Health” program and received ISO 15189 accreditation, the office recalled.
