Saida Mirziyoyeva holds talks with WHO Director-General in Samarkand
Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, held a meeting with the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on the sidelines of an international forum in Samarkand. The discussions focused on the further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the WHO, emphasizing several key areas of the national health agenda.

During the dialogue, the parties reviewed ongoing reforms within the healthcare system of Uzbekistan. Particular attention was paid to increasing the efficiency of digital medicine, improving the regulation of the pharmaceutical market, and expanding regional ties in the health sector. The meeting also addressed the critical issue of addiction, with a specific focus on strengthening collaboration with the WHO for the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals suffering from drug dependency.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the international forum titled "Countering Transnational Drug Threats to Public Health and Security," which commenced in Samarkand on April 20. Saida Mirziyoyeva delivered an address from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the forum participants, highlighting the urgent need for international solidarity in the face of evolving organized crime.

In conjunction with the forum, an exhibition was organized to showcase modern digital technologies, technical tools, and specialized equipment used in the comprehensive fight against organized drug-related crime.
