President of Afghanistan arrives in Uzbekistan
President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani has arrived in Tashkent today on a working visit, "Dunyo" IA reports.
In the capital of Uzbekistan, the Afghan leader will attend a high-level international conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities”.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is also expected to arrive in Tashkent to attend the conference. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, European Commission Vice President Josep Borrell, foreign ministers from more than 20 countries, and leaders of influential international and regional organizations are also expected to visit. The total number of participants is more than 600.
During the conference, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold talks with the leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan, foreign ministers of China, Russia, India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Central Asian countries and other states, as well as the Homeland Security Advisor to US President, Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall.
