Law allowing dismissal of an employee who refuses to be vaccinated signed
The presidential law “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population” was signed. The Ministry of Justice reports.
The law added to Article 113 of the Labor Code that if an employee refuses to undergo prophylactic vaccination on the basis of a decision of the Chief State Sanitary Inspector, when there is a threat of infectious diseases (unless there are contraindications), the employer has the right not to employ him.
According to the amendment to the law “On public health”, when there is a threat of quarantine and the spread of dangerous infectious diseases, it was established that preventive vaccination of the population would be introduced based on the decision of the Chief State Sanitary Inspector.
It should be recalled that compulsory vaccination of some categories of citizens has been introduced in Uzbekistan since July 17. These are employees of medical and educational institutions, transport companies, retail outlets, civil servants and others.
At the same time, Justice Minister Ruslanbek Davletov said the employer could suspend an employee from working for refusing vaccination, rather than dismissing him.
