The Ministry of Health has once again pointed out that the condition of patients has worsened and death cases have occurred as a result of the mismanagement in some private medical facilities that are licensed to treat coronavirus.

“Since May this year, private hospitals that have signed a voluntary contract to treat the coronavirus have been allowed to treat the disease.

However, some private medical facilities involved in the treatment of COVID-19 infection do not fully comply with the requirements specified in the contract. Not all patients there are being treated according to prescribed guidelines.

In particular, when analyzing patients’ medical histories, it was found that in some non-governmental clinics, patients were prescribed two or more antibiotics and hormones at the same time, although there were no appropriate guidelines.

In some private clinics, patients are given excessive amounts of infusion fluids in violation of treatment standards.

In addition, many patients with severe complications treated in such hospitals, which do not have sufficient knowledge and skills, do not comply with sanitary-epidemiological regulations and standards approved by the Ministry of Health, are being transferred to public medical institutions. This complicates the work of doctors in public medical institutions, which operate on a tight schedule,” the Ministry of Health said.

Anvar Khusanov, director of the Zangiota Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 1, said that treating a patient with COVID-19 infection with different infusion fluids in the early stages of the disease and using several antibiotics and hormones at the same time could cause the disease to progress rapidly to a severe form.

“Unfortunately, today these mistakes are made in the treatment of patients at home, as well as in some private medical institutions.

As a result, in June-July this year, the Zangiota Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 1 received 31 coronavirus patients in critical condition, who were treated in more than 20 private medical clinics of Tashkent and Syrdarya regions, as well as the capital.

To date, 7 of these patients have completely recovered from the disease due to the efforts of our doctors, while the remaining patients are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. Worst of all, death cases have also been registered among these patients. This is a sad situation.

On July 21 this year, citizen U.Sh., a resident of Yakkasaray district (born in 1989), was brought to the Zangiota Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 1 in critical condition. Prior to his arrival, the patient received antibacterial, pulse therapy, antiviral anticoagulant treatment at home, and then in one of the private clinics in the capital. When there was no change in the general condition of the patient, he contacted us.

The patient had symptoms of severe coronavirus infection, bilateral pneumonia, lung tumor, ORDS syndrome. Unfortunately, despite the necessary examination and treatment, this patient died on July 29 this year.

In this regard, I ask doctors working in private medical clinics to follow the instructions for the treatment of coronavirus patients, to prescribe drugs in accordance with the established rules,” he said.

To date, 25 private hospitals in Tashkent and 6 in the regions have been licensed to treat COVID-19 patients.

“Based on the above, the ministry reiterates the need to adhere to established diagnostic and treatment standards in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 infection, regardless of the form of ownership, and states that these medical institutions will be regularly monitored,” the ministry concluded.
