Expert explains why PCR test shows a positive result even after treatment for coronavirus
Why does the PCR test show a positive result even after treatment for coronavirus? This question was answered by Rano Kasimova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, a member of the Anti-Coronavirus Staff.

Reportedly, a nasal and pharyngeal (PCR) test usually shows a negative result after 10-14 days of coronavirus disease in most patients.
“But sometimes the test result can be positive. That is, sometimes there are patients whose condition can last for one or even two months.
If a patient feels completely healthy after treatment for coronavirus, but the COVID-19 virus is detected after a PCR test, it means that the person has a remnant (a very small amount) of the virus.
However, such people do not pose a serious threat to the health of those around them. That is, at this time, the patient’s nose and throat have a small amount of COVID-19 virus, which does not infect others,” Rano Kasimova said.
The polymer chain reaction (PCR) is a test that detects viral RNA and shows a very high result. This test can detect not only live viruses but also dead ones in the body.
