Senate instructs Defense Ministry to reduce the 1-month military service fee
The law “On General Conscription and Military Service” was discussed at the XVIII plenary session of the Senate on August 27. The Senate press service reported.
Senators said that during meetings with social networks and population in the regions, it was stated that the amount of money paid by citizens to the mobilization reserve is high, which leads to various objections among the population.
Supporting these views, the Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva instructed the Defense Ministry officials to submit to the Cabinet of Ministers within two weeks to reduce the amount of contributions paid by persons enlisted in the mobilization reserve, or to find an alternative.
As of today, the amount of money paid to the special account by citizens admitted to the mobilization reserve service is set at 20 BCAs, that is, 4,900,000 soums (from September 1,5,400,000 soums).
