President Mirziyoyev approves an agreement providing for formation of CIS common labor market

By a decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an agreement on cooperation in promoting employment of the population of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was approved.

The document was signed on May 28, 2021 in Minsk at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states. It is the first multilateral international treaty in the field of employment.

The Ministry of Labor has been determined as the competent authority responsible for its implementation.

The agreement’s objectives are:

- developing coordinated approaches to solving problems and removing barriers in the formation of a common labor market;
- cooperation and mutual assistance in the development and improvement of the effectiveness of measures, programs and services aimed at promoting employment of the population and reducing the level of unemployment in the states parties to the agreement;
- ensuring the rights of citizens of the CIS member states to freedom of movement and employment.

The agreement provides for cooperation in 11 key areas.
