Uzbekistan parliament admits that disease is spreading among children in recent days
Earlier social networks disseminated information that an unknown virus was spreading among children in Uzbekistan.
Later the Ministry of Health stated that influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections are actively spreading among children during the fall and winter seasons.
This fact was also recognized on October 14, during a meeting of the parliamentary commission of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis on the implementation of reforms in the field of strengthening the population’s health.
“Members of the parliamentary commission paid special attention to the issue of the prevalence of diseases in recent days among children, including schoolchildren. The importance of taking the necessary measures to ensure sanitary and epidemiological peace in educational institutions was noted,” the parliamentary press service said.
However, the Legislative Chamber did not specify the exact morbidity.
In addition, at the meeting of the commission, the fact that vaccination measures against coronavirus were not effectively organized in all places was criticized, all segments of the population requiring vaccination were not involved in this process. The need to carry out further explanatory work, to increase the responsibility of employers was noted.
“It was emphasized that explaining the positive effect of vaccination against coronavirus for the general population, bringing to the public full information about cases (criteria) that prevent vaccination is an immediate task,” the commission concludes.
