Uzbekistan increases cement imports

In January-September 2021, Uzbekistan imported 2.2 million tons of cement for $105.2 million, the State Statistics Committee reported.

This is more by 448.8 thousand tons compared to the same period last year, the committee noted.

In the first 9 months of 2021, Uzbekistan imported cement mainly from:

Kazakhstan – 964 thousand tons
Tajikistan – 560 thousand tons
Kyrgyzstan – 547 thousand tons
Iran – 49 thousand tons
Turkmenistan – 33 thousand tons

Major regions importing cement during the reporting period:

Tashkent – 1.1 million tons
Fergana region – 356 thousand tons
Andijan region – 322 thousand tons
