Uzbekistan sees surge in mobile phone imports, China remains leading supplier
According to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency, Uzbekistan imported close to 2.2 million mobile phones between January and July 2024, with a total value of $200.9 million.
China continues to dominate as the primary supplier, accounting for 1.7 million units, reflecting its strong presence in the Uzbek mobile phone market. Vietnam followed as the second-largest exporter, supplying 339,400 units, while India contributed 59,400 units during the same period. Other key suppliers included Hong Kong, with 19,800 units, and the UAE, which shipped 3,300 units.
The significant volume of imports highlights the growing demand for mobile devices in Uzbekistan, driven by the country's expanding digital landscape and increasing mobile connectivity.
