“According to the results of monitoring of air pollution by dust at 13:00 on November 6, the pollution exceeded the maximum permissible concentration by 5.5 times. Due to heavy traffic and calm (no wind), air pollution remains elevated,” the report reads.
An inversion layer in the lower atmosphere, which was formed as a result of the intrusion of cold air mass, delays the process of dispersing dust.
In the next day, significant changes in meteorological conditions in Tashkent are not expected. Dry and calm weather will remain during the day.
“At night, the low air temperature near the surface of the earth retained an inversion trapping layer in the atmosphere, which prevented the dispersion of dust. In the daytime, warming up the air will slightly weaken the dust content, but complete dispersion of the dusty haze is not expected,” the forecasters concluded.
