The presidential decree "On simplification of customs procedures and further improvement of the organizational structure of the state customs service" authorizes the customs authorities to make a preliminary decision on the application of the TIF participant to determine the amount of customs duties to be paid for goods.
The draft resolution includes:
- Regulation on the adoption of a preliminary decision on the determination of the amount of customs duties payable in respect of goods imported into Uzbekistan;
- Regulation of interactive services on the initial decision of the customs authorities to determine the customs duties to be paid in respect of goods imported into Uzbekistan.
Obtaining a preliminary decision on the payment of customs duties on goods imported into Uzbekistan is voluntary for business entities.
The draft law establishes the procedure for the preliminary adoption of decisions by the customs authorities on the determination of customs duties payable in relation to goods imported into the country.
In particular:
- the procedure for applying for an initial decision by an interested person;
- the procedure for consideration and registration of the application by the customs authorities;
- the procedure for the adoption, submission or rejection of the initial decision by the customs authorities.
It is noted that the implementation of this procedure will help enterprises to determine in advance the amount of customs duties on goods imported by them, thereby reducing the time spent on customs clearance and ensuring full and accurate collection of customs duties.
