The Ministry of Transport has prepared a draft comprehensive strategy for developing passenger transport across the country. It proposes exempting infrastructure operators from corporate property tax and land tax between January 1, 2027, and January 1, 2030.
The proposed tax relief would cover bus terminals, bus stations, railway stations and domestic airports.
The draft also calls on the Central Bank to develop a mechanism for providing long-term concessional loans to businesses operating in the transport sector. The loans would be distributed through commercial banks.
The financing could be used to build, reconstruct and modernize bus terminals and stations, as well as purchase new minibuses for urban and intercity routes.
Another proposal would allow bus stations to allocate up to 20% of their premises for additional commercial facilities, including restaurants, shops, hotels, vehicle maintenance centers, car washes and electric vehicle charging stations.
The draft document is currently open for public discussion, with comments accepted until November 11.
