Kyrgyz national security service detains man responsible for the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir REO in Uzbekistan

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) detained one of the leaders of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan, who organized an underground extremist network.
“On November 4, 2021, Sh.Sh., wanted by the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan, was detained on the territory of Osh. He was responsible for the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir REO in Uzbekistan,” the report says.
According to the Kyrgyz national security service, the man, using a forged identity document, was hiding on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
Based on the collected evidence base, guided by Article 98 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sh.Sh. has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security.
