World SAMBO championships Tashkent: Uzbekistan comes second in overall team standings
On the last day of the tournament, Nodirjon Mirkhalikov won the third gold medal for the team of Uzbekistan at the World Championships.
On the third, final day of the championships, competitions were held in 7 categories for men and women, as well as in combat SAMBO for men.
According to the results of the fights on the third day, the national team of Uzbekistan won 4 medals.
In the weight category up to 98 kg among men, Nodirjon Mirkhalikov defeated Russian Anton Konovalov in the final and became the world champion.
In combat SAMBO competitions in the weight category up to 71 kg, Istam Kudratov bagged a bronze medal. Furkat Ruziev, meanwhile, lost to Ukrainian Vladislav Rudnev in the final of the weight category up to 79 kg and won silver.
Sokhibjon Khasanboyev also secured silver in combat SAMBO (-88 kg).
According to the results of the championships, the national team of Uzbekistan took second place in the overall team standings, having won 3 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. The first place is taken by All-Russian SAMBO Federation (RSF).
