Senate to convene on November 18

On November 15, a meeting of the Council of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place. At the meeting, a decision was made to convene the XXI plenary session of the Senate on November 18 this year.

A number of issues will be discussed at the plenary session, which will be held in the form of videoconferencing. In particular, senators will consider the constitutional law “On the state of emergency” and the law “On hydrometeorological activities”.

Within the framework of the agenda, the laws “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of legislation on intellectual property objects”, “On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On protection of consumer rights”, “On making additions and changes to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the legislation on citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In addition, the senators will focus on the laws “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of additional measures to ensure the guarantees of the rights of women who find themselves in a difficult social situation”, “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts Of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the quarantine and plant protection system”.

Senators will also discuss the law “On Amendments and Additions to the Administrative Liability Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Liberalization of Administrative Penalties for Committing Certain Offenses in the Transport and Financial Spheres”.

Besides, it is planned at the plenary session to hear information from the director of the National Center for Human Rights on the status of implementation of the international obligations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of human rights.

At the same time, the issue of sending parliamentary requests to the Cabinet of Ministers on the state of medical care provided to pregnant women and women of reproductive age, as well as infants, and on increasing the responsibility of employers on issues related to labor relations of women in the light industry and the leather industry will be discussed.

It is also planned to hear the report of the Committee on Science, Education and Health on the activities in 2020 and the past period in 2021.
