Statistics Committee names provinces leading in fruit and vegetable exports
In January-October 2021, Uzbekistan exported 1.2 million tons of fruits and vegetables for $747.4 million.
According to the State Statistics Committee, Fergana region is leading in terms of fruit and vegetable exports with $194 million, followed by Tashkent region ($115 million) and Samarkand region ($87.6 million).
During the reporting period, Namangan exported fruits and vegetables for $63.2 million, Surkhandarya – for $62 million, Khorezm – for $57.5 million, Kashkadarya – for $33.2 million, Andijan – for $31.3 million, Tashkent city – for $27 million, Syrdarya – for $22.7 million, Jizzakh – for $20.5 million, Bukhara – for $14.3 million, Navoi – for $13.3 million, Karakalpakstan – for $6.4 million.
Major importers of Uzbek fruits and vegetables in January-October 2021 were Kazakhstan – 538 thousand tons, Russia – 341 thousand tons and Kyrgyzstan – 112 thousand tons.
