Gov’t to allocate $354.36 million for metro construction in Tashkent
The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On approval of the feasibility study of the project “Construction of overground metro lines in the city of Tashkent” was adopted.

The project is being implemented in accordance with the presidential decree “On measures to implement the project “Construction of a ring overground metro line in the city of Tashkent”, Norma reports.
According to the approved feasibility study, the total cost of the project is $354.36 million, including:
• state budget funds – $208.398 million;
• funds of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development – $108.390 million;
• a loan from the Eximbank of the People’s Republic of China – $500 million;
• the state share – $37.076 million.
The size of capital investments for the project is $317.288 million, they will be directed to the purchase of machinery, equipment and construction-installation work.
The loan from Eximbank of China was provided for a period of 20 years, with a five-year grace period. The loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development – for 15 years with a four-year grace period.
