Over 2,300 babies born on first day of 2022
According to the Ministry of Health, on the first day of the New Year, 2,316 babies were born in Uzbekistan. On this day, twins were born in 13 cases, including one quadruple.
On the first day of the New Year, 2316 babies were born. As the press service of the Health Ministry reported, this is the highest figure in the last 5 years.
On the same day in 2018, 1,961 babies were born, in 2019 – 1,707 newborns, in 2020 – 1,974 newborns and in 2021 – 1,644 newborns.
Of the number of newborns on January 1, 2022, 1,118 were girls and 1,198 – boys. The largest number of children were born in the Samarkand region (270).
TOP-4 regions in terms of birth rate:
- 2nd place – Fergana region (239 newborns),
- 3rd place – Namangan region (218),
- 4th place – Surkhandarya region (213).
In addition, the birth rate in the regions on this day is as follows:
- 5th place – Kashkadarya region (210 newborns),
- 6th place – Andijan region (197),
- 7th place – Tashkent city (177),
- 8th place – the Republic of Karakalpakstan (156),
- 9th place – Tashkent region (155),
- 10th place – Khorezm region (115),
- 11th place – Bukhara region (113),
- 12th place – Jizzakh region (102),
- 13th place – Navoi region (90),
- 14th place – Syrdarya region (61).
In 12 cases, 12 pairs of twins were born, and in another case – a quadruple (28 children in total).
It should be recalled that 3,807 medical workers, including 509 obstetricians and gynecologists, 315 neonatologists, 1,159 midwives and 1,824 nurses, are on duty at 238 maternity hospitals in Uzbekistan.
