Uzbekistan to take new measures to regulate activities of pharmacies
It is planned to regulate the activities of pharmacies in Uzbekistan, this is stated in the draft “Roadmap” for the implementation of the development strategy for 2022-2026 in 2022.
The Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency and the Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service will be authorized to conduct inspections and impose administrative sanctions for illegal pharmaceutical activities and violations of the rules for the sale of over-the-counter drugs, including psychotropic drugs.
In addition, the provision of primary healthcare facilities with medicines and medical supplies will be further improved. The funds allocated from the state budget for medicines and medical supplies will be tripled. At the same time, the main focus is on strengthening home-based medical prevention.
The system of remuneration of employees of primary healthcare will be improved. At the same time, the list of remote areas of the country and areas with low staffing will be determined, a separate supplement will be added to the monthly salaries of medical staff of district (city) medical associations included in the list of remote areas and areas with low staffing.
Moreover, medical equipment available in the primary healthcare service will be registered. The need for medical equipment and medical supplies will be formed to provide the population with free medical services guaranteed by the state. Based on the results of the inventory and the need for medical equipment and supplies, the minimum requirements for medical equipment for primary healthcare facilities will be developed. Procurement of medical equipment and medical supplies will be carried out on the basis of the formed need.
Measures will also be taken to conduct “targeted” screening by home. The home-based “targeted” screening is aimed at early detection of patients with oncological, endocrinological and therapeutic diseases. Specialized medical care will be provided in the region for the identified patients.
