Bodies of 518 Uzbeks who died abroad brought home in 2021
The Agency for External Labor Migration has provided information on assistance provided last year to labor migrants working abroad.
During the reporting period, the agency provided legal assistance to 8,811 migrant workers, consulting services to 295,102 people, social assistance to 6,283 citizens and financial assistance to 13,424 persons.
One-time financial assistance was provided to 7,534 migrants, and 358 migrant workers were temporarily housed in hostels.
In addition, 321 civilians who ended up in a difficult situation in foreign countries were returned home and the bodies of 518 compatriots who died abroad were delivered to Uzbekistan with the help of the agency.
According to the agency, the medical expenses of 17 labor migrants with serious injuries were reimbursed.
