American University of Wyoming eyes to establish partnerships with Uzbekistan 

A delegation from the American University of Wyoming headed by Isadora Helfgott, vice-rector for global cooperation, arrived in Uzbekistan today, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, the delegation also included the head of the Hub School of Environment and Natural Resources John Koprowski and the dean of the Geology and Geophysics Department Mark Klementz.

This visit is carried out as part of the agreements between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Javlon Vakhabov and the President of the University of Wyoming Edward Zaidel, reached during a working trip to Wyoming in 2021.

The program of the visit of the university delegation is scheduled to hold meetings at the ministries of higher and secondary specialized education, energy, agriculture, tourism and sports, the State Committee for Geology, the State Committee for Nature Protection, the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, as well as at the University of Geological Sciences, Tashkent State Economic University, National University, Samarkand State University, the Silk Road International Tourism University, Bukhara State University and the Bukhara branch of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration.

The main purpose of the visit of the American delegation is to discuss the issues of establishing direct partnerships between the University of Wyoming and universities and interested ministries and departments, increasing the human resources potential of Uzbekistan’s specialists by studying them in the United States, organizing joint scientific and practical research, as well as establishing student exchanges.

It should be recalled that the University of Wyoming was founded in 1886, teaches more than 12 thousand students from all 50 states and 90 countries of the world. It is in the top 1,000 best universities in the world, consists of nine colleges and schools:

1) business,
2) engineering and applied sciences,
3) agriculture and natural resources,
4) Khaba School of Environment and Natural Resources,
5) Schools of Energy Resources,
6) education,
7) health sciences,
8) science and art,
9) law.

The state’s GDP is over $40 billion. Wyoming’s economy is based on tourism, agriculture, and mining such as coal, natural gas, oil, and trona. This state was the first in the United States to give women the right to vote and become politicians, Wyoming is also the first state to elect a woman governor. The state motto – “Equal Rights”.
