Gas stations sell fuel for 6,000-6,500 soums, which is 25% cheaper than in November.
The price of gasoline AI-80 continues to decline, Spot reported with reference to the Antimonopoly Committee.
Due to the actions of the committee and the Fergana Oil Refinery aimed at analyzing pricing and reducing production costs, the price of a liter of fuel was reduced by 16%. According to the Committee, a liter of AI-80 has fallen in price from 7,555 soums to 6,500 soums.
The measures taken by the working group from the Antimonopoly Committee, the Ministry of Economic Development and the UZEX helped to reduce the wholesale price of gasoline to 6.7 million per ton (average for January 10-14). This is 30% cheaper than the level noted in mid-November – 9.6 million soums.
In turn, the decrease in the exchange price led to cheaper retail fuel.
Now at gas stations, a liter of AI-80 costs on average 6,000-6,500 soums – 20-25% cheaper than in November.
Gasoline AI-80 rose sharply at the beginning of last November – the wholesale price on the stock exchange reached 10 million soums per ton. The Antimonopoly Committee promised to take a number of measures in this regard and to stabilize the price of fuel.
In particular, suppliers were ordered to put up at least 3,000 tons of fuel per day, of which at least 20% – in small lots of 1 ton for individual gas stations. They also limited the amount of fuel per customer.
Already during the first 3 days after the intervention, gasoline AI-80 on the stock exchange fell in price by an average of 9%. After 10 days, by November 27, 2021, the wholesale price of a ton of fuel fell by 20% to 8.1 million soums.
Representatives of Uzbekneftegaz announced plans to phase out the production of AI-80 starting from 2022. As it became known, the Bukhara Oil Refinery will be transferred to the production of AI-92 gasoline with the help of aroforming, developed by the Russian Gazprom Neft.
Earlier, it was reported that the wholesale price of AI-80 gasoline on the stock exchange fell by 6.3% in one day.
