Uzbekistan tops Central Asia for gasoline prices
Uzbekistan has the highest gasoline prices in Central Asia, with the average price of AI-95 exceeding those in neighboring countries.
According to data published by the GlobalPetrolPrices portal, as of 13 July, the average price of one liter of gasoline in Uzbekistan stood at $1.340. Although this remains below the global average of $1.47 per liter, it is significantly higher than prices across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the rest of Central Asia.
For comparison, Turkmenistan has one of the world's lowest gasoline prices, with a liter costing just $0.43. Prices in other regional countries are also considerably lower, averaging $0.676 per liter in Azerbaijan, $0.687 in Kazakhstan, $0.924 in Russia, $0.936 in Belarus, $1.016 in Kyrgyzstan and $1.168 in Afghanistan.
Globally, the cheapest gasoline is sold in Libya at $0.023 per liter, followed by Iran at $0.029 and Venezuela at $0.035.
At the other end of the ranking, Hong Kong has the world's most expensive gasoline at $4.062 per liter. It is followed by Malawi, Denmark, Israel, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Liechtenstein, Singapore and Switzerland, where the average price stands at $2.265 per liter.
