SSS officers confiscate smuggled phones worth about 1 billion soums

A large batch of Redmi Note 10s phones smuggled across the state border was confiscated.
Employees of the State Security Service Department of the Fergana region carried out an operative event to prevent smuggling various goods into the country.
When examining the house of a resident (born in 1977) of the Fergana district, located near the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, 436 Redmi Note 10s mobile phones were found. The mobile phones were hidden and there were no relevant documents for them.
During the pre-investigation check, it was found that these phones were received from a citizen of Kyrgyzstan for further sale. The total cost of smuggling amounted to about 935 million soums.
A criminal case was initiated against the suspect under Article 182 of the Criminal Code, the SSS Department reported.
